Welcome to the new issue of Intercomms, as we head into our fifth year of the journal.

I can remember starting the journal and the initial work with Prof Struzak, from the ITU.

The industry has certainly changed with Service Providers looking at deployment of content driven services to aid their revenue streams, and consolidation taking place in most marketplaces.

We have added a new section to the journal looking at regional trends and investment opportunities within these markets. We hope this will make the journal more interesting and give you views and opportunities for marketplaces you are working or looking to work into.

As we move into 2008 we will be working with our partner organisations to give you continuous updates on how to improve networks and standards and regulations that will affect them.
